Final Result
Materials
• Ribtex beige twine thread
• Ribtex silver head pins
• Ribtex silver eye pins
• Ribtex 4mm round plastic beads - bright silver
• Ribtex 6mm glass bicone - 2 tone pink
• Ribtex glass chunks - hot pink
• Ribtex 12mm foil lined heart - pink
• Ribtex alphabet beads
• flat nose pliers
• round nose pliers
• ruler or tape measure
• scissors
• craft glue
Step 1
For the name end
Select the alphabet beads required for the name you are creating. Thread a 4mm silver bead onto a head pin.

Thread the alphabet beads onto the head pin, using a pink 2-tone glass bicone as a spacer between each letter.

Make sure you leave approx 7mm of head pin exposed after threading the beads onto it.

Using the round nose pliers, turn the end of the head pin into a loop.

Close the loop using the flat nose pliers.

Note: If the name you are creating is longer than the head pin that you are going to use to thread the beads onto, then break it up in sections using eye pins with loops on each end.

Join the sections together to complete the longer name.
Step 2
For the opposite end
Thread a 4mm silver plastic bead onto a head pin, followed by a 12mm foil lined heart.

Cut the end off the head pin, leaving approximately 7mm of pin.

Using the round nose pliers, turn the end of the head pin into a loop.

Close the loop using the flat nose pliers. Set this piece aside.

Thread a selection of beads (silver 4mm plastic beads, a 6mm pink glass bicone and a hot pink glass chunk) onto an eye pin.

Leave approximately 7mm of the eye pin exposed.

Turn the end into a loop and before closing the loop properly connect this piece to the heart unit.

Tie the ends of the twine onto the eye pin loops and make a few knots to secure.

Dab a little craft glue onto the knot and allow to dry. Snip off the excess ‘tail’ of the knot to complete the beaded bookmark.
Handy Hint
If you are making a bookmark for a young person, then it would be a good idea to make the cord section of the bookmark a little longer as most children’s books are larger than standard novels.
