Turquoise cloisonné & swarovski bookmark

Books are wonderful gifts but these personalised beaded creations ensure your literary gift is truly one-of-a-kind. Create a number of bookmarks from just a few packets of beads & findings.

Materials

• Ribtex turquoise twine thread
• Ribtex turquoise precious stone chips
• Ribtex 8mm turquoise round cloisonné beads
• Ribtex 6mm blue zircone Swarovski bicones
• Ribtex silver head pins
• flat nose pliers
• round nose pliers
• ruler or tape measure
• scissors
• craft glue

Step 1

Thread a selection of beads onto two head pins, leaving approximately 7mm of head pin at the end. Using the round nose pliers, turn the end of the head pin into a loop. Close the loop using the flat nose pliers.

Step 2

Cut a piece of turquoise twine approximately 30cm long. Tie the ends of the twine onto the eye pin loops. Make a few knots to secure the beaded head pin onto the twine cord.

Step 3

Dab a little craft glue onto the knot and allow to dry. Snip off the excess ‘tail’ of the knot to omplete the beaded bookmark.

Handy Hint

If you are making a bookmark for a young person, then it would be a good idea to make the cord section of the bookmark a little longer as most children’s books are larger than standard novels.
