- 5.50mm crochet hook
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure - Step 1
- MOTIF 1 - make 30 (5 x 6 different colour combinations)
Rnd 1: Using 5.50mm hook and MC work 4ch, (1tr, 1ch) 7 times in magic circle, 1ch, join with sl st into 3rd ch of st-ch. - Step 2
- Rnd 2: 4chinsamestasslst,(1trinlp,1ch,1trinnexttr,1ch)7times,1trin next lp, 1ch, sl st into 3rd ch of st-ch.
- Step 3
- Change to CC1
Rnd 3: beg cluster in same st as sl st, (2ch, cluster in next tr) 15 times, 2ch, sl st into 3rd ch of st-ch (16 clusters). - Step 4
- Rnd 4: (3ch, 1tr, 1htr) in same st as sl st, 1dc in 2-ch lp, (sk cluster, shell in 1st ch, 1dc in lp) 15 times, (1htr, 1tr in same st as sl st,) sl st into 3rd ch.
- Step 5
- Change to CC2
Rnd 5: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, (4ch, 1dc in hdtr) 15 times, 4ch sl st into 1st dc. - Step 6
- Rnd 6: (shellA in 4-ch lp, sk dc,) 16 times, sl st into 1st dc. Fasten off. Sew in all ends of each motif.
- Step 7
- Motifs are joined together as the border of each motif is made, in columns of 6 motifs and 5 rows of columns.

- Step 8
- 1st Motif Join MC with a dc, as above, into hdtr of any shell. * 4ch, sk to next hdtr, 1htr into next hdtr, 2ch, sk (1 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc), v-st in next st, 2ch, sk (1 htr, 1 tr), 1htr in next hdtr, (4ch, sk to next hdtr, 1dc in next hdtr) twice, repeat from * 3 times finishing with a sl st into 1st dc.
- Step 9
- 2nd Motif * 4ch, sk to next hdtr, 1htr into next hdtr, 2ch, sk (1 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc), v-st in next st, 2ch, sk (1 htr, 1 tr), 1htr in next hdtr, (4ch, sk to next hdtr, 1dc in next hdtr) twice, repeat from * once, 4ch, sk to next hdtr, 1htr into next hdtr, 2ch, sk (1 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc), (1dtr, 1ch, sl st into 3-ch lp of 1st motif, 1ch, 1dtr) in next st, 1ch, sl st into 2- ch lp of 1st motif, 1ch, sk (1 htr, 1 tr), 1htr in next hdtr of 2nd motif, (2ch, sl st into 4-ch lp of 1st motif, 2ch, 1dc in next hdtr of 2nd motif) twice, 2ch, sl st into 4-ch lp of 1st motif, 2ch, 1htr in next hdtr of 2nd motif, 1ch, sl st into 2-ch lp of 1st motif, sk (1 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc), (1dtr, 1ch, sl st into 3-ch lp of 1st motif, 1ch, 1dtr) in next st, 2ch, sk (1 htr, 1 tr), 1htr in next hdtr, 4ch, 1dc in next hdtr, 4ch, sl st into 1st dc. Continue joining motifs in this manner until you have a column of 6 motifs (making sure to keep all motifs right side up as you join them together).
To join the next column start at the bottom, work current motif as before, except you join it to the 1st motif of the 1st row in the 2nd and 3rd corners, not the 3rd and 4th. When working the 2nd motif of 2nd row, you join to the rest in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th corners, as per pattern established.
Continue joining in this manner until you have 5 rows of 6 motifs joined together. Sew in all ends. - Step 10
- Border
