• fabric or felt for backing the flowers
• co-ordinating buttons
• scraps of Vliesofix
• scraps of iron-on thin pellon/wadding
• small brooch backs
• PVA or craft glue
• sharp scissors
• sewing machine
• Gütermann sewing threads
• hand needle
• iron & ironing board
• pencil
• optional - baking paper, craft glue - Step 1
- Using template provided, draw a small and large flower (per brooch) on the paper side of vliesofix. Iron vliesofix to back of fabric scraps. Cut out flowers using sharp scissors.

- Step 2
- Place iron-on pellon on ironing board glue side up and place fabric backing wrong side down on top. Use a dry iron to fuse pellon to fabric backing. Turn over. Remove backing paper from cut out fabric flowers and place the vliesofix side of the flowers on top of pellon. Cover with baking paper and iron flowers to fuse to pellon.

- Step 3
- Roughly cut out flowers through all layers 5mm from the edges of the fabric flowers.
Topstitch flowers 3mm in from the edges of fabric flowers.
Trim pellon and backing fabric using sharp scissors to edge of fabric flower. Using a small zigzag stitch, stitch around all edges of the fabric flowers, pivoting at base of each petal near centre of flower. Join the small flower to the top of the large flower by hand sewing a button in the centre of the flowers. Tie off ends of threads between small and large flowers. Hand sew or glue brooch back to the centre back of fabric flower.
