- Materials
- 12cm squares Christmas print fabrics - some red on white & some white on red
12cm squares cotton wadding
Gutermann 100% cotton sewing thread - white
Gutermann 100% cotton sewing thread - red
Small white buttons
Tiny rickrack
Silver cord
Kaisercraft rhinestones - silver, red
Small eyelets - white
Hole punch

Paper for patterns - Step 1
- To create templates draw or trace an 11cm star, a 9cm bell and a 9cm tree onto the paper and cut out.
- Step 2
- Layer one red fabric square, one cotton wadding square and one white fabric square together with right sides of fabric facing outwards.
Pin together. - Step 3
- With white thread in both the top and the bobbin set the stitch length slightly longer and sew up and down then side to side with rows of stitching 5-10mm apart.
- Step 4
- Using one of the paper patterns cut out a shape through all layers of the stitched square.
Set machine to zigzag stitch and sew around all edges.
Repeat using the other shapes. - Step 5
- Punch a hole 1-1.5cm down from one of the top of the shape, insert a small eyelet and set in place.
Thread rickrack or silver cord through the eyelet and knot to hang. - Step 6
- To embellish add rhinestones or sew on small white buttons.
