- Materials
- YARN BEE Little Grins #147
3 (3-4) x 50g balls 1st Colour (C1-green)
1 (2-2) x 50g ball/s 2nd Colour (C2-purple)
1 (2-2) x 50g ball/s 3rd Colour (C3-red)
1 (2-2) x 50g balls 4th Colour (C4-brown)
1 (1-2) x 50g ball/s 5th Colour (C5-blue)
Needles
A 5.00mm (US 8), (UK 6) and 4.50mm (US 7), (UK 7)
Circular Needles or sizes that give correct tension/gauge.
MATERIALS
A Safety Pin; A Yarn Needle; Length of Hat Elastic. - Step 1
- Skirt
Using 4.50mm (US 7), (UK 7) Circular Needle and C1,
cast on 180 (192-204) sts.
Place safety pin on first st to mark beg of each round.
Beg hem - 1st round - Knit.
Rep 1st round until work measures 3 cms/1 in from beg.
Next round (ridge) - Purl.
Rep 1st round until work measures 3 cms/1 in from
ridge, thus completing hem.
Change to 5.00mm (US 8), (UK 6) Circular Needle.
Beg Fair Isle - Do not weave colours in fair isle, but
carry colour not in use loosely across on WS. Always
carry colours to ends of round.
Work rounds 1 to 40 incl from Graph (approx 17 cms/7
ins).
Rounds 1 to 40 incl form fair isle patt.
Cont in fair isle patt until work measures approx 27
(31-34) cms/11 (12½-13½) ins from beg of fair isle,
ending with a 22nd (32nd-40th) patt round.
Break off C2, C3, C4 and C5, thus completing fair isle
patt.
Change to 4.50mm (US 7), (UK 7) Circular Needle.
Using C1 for rem, Next round - K16 (14-12), * K1, sl
1, K2tog, psso, rep from * to last 16 (14-12) sts, K16
(14-12) = 106 (110-114) sts.
Beg waistband - 1st round - * K1, P1, rep from * to
end.
Rep 1st round until waistband measures 4 cms/1½ ins.
Cast/bind off loosely in rib.

DO NOT PRESS. Using yarn needle, darn in ends. Fold hem in half onto WS at ridge. Using yarn needle, slip stitch hem loosely into position. Thread elastic through alternate rows of rib as waist. Draw up to desired measurement and secure. - Note

20 sts and 23 rows to 10 cms/4 ins over fair isle, using 5.00mm (US 8), (UK 6) Knitting Needles.
