How to - Casting on (Continental style)

- Materials
- The yarn of your preference
- Step 1
- Leaving a long tail approximately 2cm for each stitch to be cast on, create a slip knot on to one needle.

- Step 2
- Steps 2 & 3
Hold the needle in the right hand and place the thumb and index finger of the left hand in between the yarn ends so the working yarn is over the index finger and the tail end is over the thumb.

- Step 4
Hold both ends together in the fingers and palm of the left hand move the needle down toward the palm and pick up the yarn around the thumb closest to you.

- Step 5
Pick up the yarn from the index finger by placing the needle under the yarn from the top. 
- Step 5
- Steps 6 & 7
Pass the needle back through the loop created from the yarn around the thumb. 
- Step 6
- Steps 8, 9 & 10
Drop the loop off the thumb and placing the thumb back under the yarn gently pull the end to tighten cast on stitch.
Repeat until desired amount of stitches is achieved.
