• ‘Moda Vera’ JALAP 50g balls as per size
• 4.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

Step 1

BODY
Foundation Ch: Work 163 [193] ch, sl st
into 1st ch to form a loop, ensuring work not
twisted.

Step 2

Rnd 1: 3ch, (sk 1 ch, 1tr in next ch, 1ch) repeat
to end of round, sl st into 3rd ch at beg,
162 [192] sts.

Step 3

Rnd 2: 1ch, (1dc in 1-ch sp, 1dc in next tr) to
end, sl st into 1st ch.

Step 4

Rnd 3: 1ch, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st into
1st ch.

Step 5

Rnd 4: 3ch, 1tr in next dc (1ch, sk 1 dc, 1tr in
each of next 2 dc) to last dc, sl st into 3rd ch
at beg.

Step 6

Rnd 5: 1ch, 1dc in 1st tr, (1dc in 1-ch sp, 1dc
in each of next 2 tr) to end, sl st into 1st ch.
Repeat Rnds 4 & 5, 3 more times.

Step 7

Rnd 12: 1ch, 1dc in each st to end of round
ending with a sl st into 1st ch.

Step 8

Rnd 13: 2ch, (1htr in each of next 18 [17] dc,
Dec), 8 [10] times, Hhr to end, sl st into 2nd
ch, 154 [182] sts.

Step 9

Rnd 14: 2ch, 1htr in each htr, DO NOT sl st at
end, cont to work 1htr in each htr. This avoids
a seam line.

Step 10

Cont working in htr until work measures 40
[42]cm from beg, ending level with beg of pattern
at left side sl st into next st.

Step 11

Divide for Armholes
Sl st 2, 2ch, 1htr in each of next 73 [87]
sts, sl st 4, 1htr in each of next 73 [87] sts,
turn.

Step 12

BACK
*2ch, Dec, 1htr in each of next 69 [83] sts,
Dec, turn.
2ch, Dec, 1htr in each of next 67 [81] sts,
Dec, turn.
2ch, Dec, 1htr in each of next 65 [79] sts,
Dec, turn.
Large only: 2ch, Dec, 1htr in each of next 77
sts, Dec, turn.*

Step 13

Cont rows of htr without shaping until work
measures 12cm from armhole shaping, ending
with a WS row.
Divide for Neck
2ch, 1htr in each of next 23 [29] sts, Dec,
turn.

Step 14

Dec, 1htr in each st to end.
Cont to Dec at neck edge in this manner until
5 [7] sts rem. Fasten off.
Skip next 17 [21] sts for centre neck.
Rejoin yarn to last 25 [29] sts.
Dec, 1htr in each st to end.
1htr in each st to last 2 sts, Dec.
Cont to Dec at neck edge in this manner until
5 [7] sts rem. Fasten off.

Step 15

FRONT
Rejoin yarn to 73 [87] sts for Front, and
repeat from * to *.
Cont to work rows of htr without shaping for
8cm from armhole, ending with a WS row.
Divide for Neck
2ch, 1htr in each of next 23 [29] sts, Dec,
turn.
Dec, 1htr in each st to end.
Cont to Dec at neck edge in this manner until
5 [7] sts rem.
Work in htr on these 5 [7] sts, until work
measures same as for back to top of shoulder.
Fasten off.
Skip next 17 [21] sts for centre neck.
Rejoin yarn to last 25 [29] sts.
Dec, 1htr in each st to end.
1 htr in each st to last 2 sts, Dec.
Cont to Dec at neck edge in this manner until
5 [7] sts rem.
Work in htr on these 5 [7] sts, until work
measures same as for back to top of
shoulder. Fasten off.

Step 16

COLLAR
With right sides facing, join shoulder seams.
With wrong side facing, draw up a loop at left
shoulder, 1ch, work 32 [35] dc evenly down
left back neck shaping, 17 [21] dc across
back neck, 32 [35] dc evenly up right back
neck shaping, 35 [37] dc evenly down right
front shaping, 17 [21] dc across front neck,
35 [37] dc up left front neck, sl st into 1st ch,
168 [186] sts.
Work 2 rounds of dc, starting with 1ch, and
ending with a sl st.
Work 4 rounds of htr, starting with 2ch, and
ending with a sl st into 2nd ch.
Next Rnd: 1ch, (2dc in next htr, 1dc in each of
next 10 [9] sts), 15 [18] times, 1dc in each
dc to end, sl st to 1st ch, 183 [204] sts.
Repeat Rnds 4 & 5 from Body, 4 times in all.
Work 1 round of dc, staring with 1ch, and
ending with a sl st.
Repeat Rnd 1 from Body, fasten off.

Step 17

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
