Final Result
Materials
• Ribtex tiger tail
• Ribtex 11mm lobster clasp - boho gold
• Ribtex 2mm round crimpers - boho gold
• Ribtex 7mm jump rings - boho gold
• 6 pkts Ribtex 6mm-8mm round Yellow Jade beads
• 1 pkt Ribtex 20x30mm Yellow Jade rectangle
• 1 pkt Ribtex 28x40mm Yellow Jade oval disk
• Ribtex clear stretch thread
• round nose pliers
• cutting pliers
• flat nose pliers
• bead board
Step 1
Necklace
Cut a length of tiger tail approximately 50cm. Feed a 2mm round crimper onto one end of the tiger tail followed by a 7mm jump ring. Pass the end of the tiger tail back through the crimper leaving approximately 1cm of ‘tail’ after you have threaded the tiger tail through the crimper. Using the pliers, gently squash the crimper so that it secures the tiger tail around the jump ring.
Step 2
Thread the Yellow Jade beads onto the tiger tail starting with 5 x 6mm round beads then 17 x 8mm round beads. Add a 20x30mm rectangle followed by another 8mm round bead. Slide on the 28x40mm oval disk followed by another 8mm round bead and the remaining 20x30mm rectangle disk. Thread on another 17 x 8mm round beads followed by another 5 x 6mm beads.
Step 3
Slide a 2mm boho crimper onto the end of the necklace then add a 7mm jump ring. Carefully thread the end of the tiger tail back through the crimper and if possible through the last few beads on the strand. Use your pliers to grip the end of the wire as it comes out between the beads. Very gently, hold the jump ring and pull the tiger tail so that the beads become taut. When the beads are as secure as possible, squash the crimper with the pliers and cut off the excess tiger tail. At one end, open the jump ring, attach the lobster clasp and close the jump ring.
Step 4
Bracelet
Step 1 Cut a length of stretch thread approximately 40cm. Fold in half and thread the beads onto the double strand. This will make the bracelet stronger.
Step 5
Step 2
Start with 6 x 6mm round beads, followed by 7 x 8mm round beads. Thread on the 28x40mm oval disk then add another 7 x 8mm round beads.
Step 6
Step 3
To finish the bracelet, tie the ends of the stretch thread securely. Use a double knot to prevent the stretch thread from unravelling and snip off the excess thread but don’t cut the threads too close to the knot. If possible, gently tug the knot into one of the bead channels to hide the ‘tails’.
Note
The finished length of this necklace is 47cm. If you wish to make it longer, you will need to purchase extra beads according to your requirements.
