Materials

- ‘Moda Vera’ MarVeL 8ply 100g balls 1 x Main Colour (M – 1010) 1 x Contrast Colour (C – 1012)
- 1 pair 3.75mm knitting needles and two 3.75mm double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to give correct tension.

Tension
This handknit has been designed at a tension of 24 sts and 31 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 3.75mm needles. Check your tension carefully.
If less sts to 10cm use smaller needles, if more sts use bigger needles.
- Yarn needle for sewing seams.
- Pom pom maker.

Step 1

Cover
Using 3.75mm needles and M, cast on 14 sts.
1st row: K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to end.
2nd row: P2, * K2, P2, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form rib.
rep last 2 rows twice, inc 2 sts evenly across last row ... 16 sts, 6 rows rib in all. Work in stocking st (beg with a knit row) until cover measures 22cm from beg, ending with a purl row.

Step 2

Next row: K2, P2, K2tog, K1, P2, K1, K2tog, P2, K2 ... 14 sts. Work 5 rows rib (as before), beg with a 2nd row. Cast off loosely in rib.

Step 3

i-Cord
Using two 3.25mm double-pointed needles and M, cast on 3 sts.
1st row: Knit, DO NOT TUrN. Slip sts to other end of needle. Pull yarn firmly across back of work and rep 1st row, working each row in the same direction until cord is 15cm in length. Break off yarn and thread end through sts, draw up tightly and fasten off securely.

Step 4

To Make Up
DO NOT PRESS.
Fold cover in half lengthways and join sides together. Sew ends of i-cord to inside of one side to form loop. Using C, make pom pom and attach as illustrated.

Use only the yarn specified. Other yarns are likely to produce different results. Quantities are approximate as they can vary between knitters.
