Materials
Fabrics are from ‘So Tiny So Sweet’ range in pink/blue
80cm Tiny Feet Patchwork – fabric A (includes outer border)
80cm Tiny Feet – fabric B (includes binding)
50cm So Tiny So Sweet So Loved – fabric C (includes inner border)
1.2m fabric A/B/C for backing
1.2m Sew Easy cotton/bamboo batting
Matching Gutermann 100% cotton thread
Rotary cutter, mat & quilters rulers
Quilting pins, tape measure
Scissors, seam ripper
Hand needle
Sewing machine with 1/4" foot and walking foot

All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed.
1/4" seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated.
Step 1
Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt.
Step 2
CUTTING
All strips are cut across the width of fabric unless otherwise stated.

From Tiny Feet Patchwork fabric A cut:
• 2 x 2 1/2" strips crosscut into 20 x 2 1/2" squares;
• 3 x 2 7/8" strips crosscut into 40 x 2 7/8" squares, cut once diagonally to make 80 halfsquare triangles;
• 4 x 3" strips for outer border.

From Tiny Feet fabric B cut:
• 6 x 2 7/8" strips crosscut into 80 x 2 7/8" squares, cut once diagonally to make 160 halfsquare triangles;
• 4 x 2 1/2" strips for binding.

From So Tiny So Sweet So Loved fabric C cut:
• 3 x 2 7/8" strips crosscut into 40 x 2 7/8" squares, cut once diagonally to make 80 halfsquare triangles;
• 4 x 1 1/2" strips for inner border.
Step 3
HALF-SQUARE TRIANGLE UNITS

Sew together a Tiny Feet Patchwork fabric A triangle and a Tiny Feet fabric B triangle to make one half-square triangle unit (diagram 1).
Press seam towards the fabric B triangle.
Repeat with remaining fabric A triangles for a total of 80 A/B units.
Step 4
Sew together a So Tiny So Sweet So Loved fabric C triangle and a Tiny Feet fabric B triangle to make one half-square triangle unit (diagram 2). Press seam towards the fabric B triangle. Repeat with remaining fabric C triangles for a total of 80 B/C units.
Step 5
To create the nine-patch block take one 2 1/2" fabric A square, 4 A/B units and 4 B/C units and lay out as in diagram 3.
Step 6
Working row-by-row and beginning with top row, stitch one B/C unit to each side of an A/B unit. Repeat for row 3. For row 2, stitch one A/B unit to each side of a 2 1/2” fabric A square.
Stitch all three rows together carefully matching all seams and points. Make 20 blocks. This is a ribbon star block.
Step 7
QUILT TOP

Refer to the quilt photo and arrange the blocks into 5 rows with 4 blocks in each row.
Sew the blocks in each row together. Press seams in one direction alternating the direction in each row.
Step 8
Sew the rows together matching seams. Press seams in one direction.
Step 9
Trim selvedges from 4 x 1 1/2" fabric C border strips. Sew one strip to each side of the quilt. Press seams towards border and trim off any excess fabric. Sew remaining strips to the top and bottom of the quilt, press and trim off any excess fabric. Repeat using the 4 x 3" fabric A outer border strips.
Step 10
Layer backing, batting and quilt top, baste together. Quilt in the ditch around the stars or as desired.
Step 11
Join the 4 x 2 1/2" fabric B binding strips to make one long strip. Press in half lengthwise and bind mitering corners. Attach a label or sign and date your quilt.

    • Love this quilt, I have printed it out and plan on doing this one for the next baby. I already have bought some of this material for a quilt I am doing for a friends baby "Luke" at the moment as I really like the little feet!
