- Step 9
- To make up throw
Lay out your squares to decide which square goes where then join them together in a row horizontally by working a row of double crochet in black marvel over the seams of two squares held together with wrong sides together to create a nice raised seam, then adding another two squares, joining them in the same manner, until you have two rows of six squares joined together. - Step 10
- Holding the bottom row at the beginning, with wrong sides together, join another row of squares in the same manner, until there are 3 rows of 6 squares, continue adding squares in rows of 6 until you have 5 rows of squares.
Turn the rug 90 degrees and join the seams vertical seams in the same manner, working a slst over the join in the horizontal joins. Continue until all the rows are finished.
(it is easier to join two rows horizontally, then add the third, then the forth, then the fifth, then the sixth, before turning the throw and working up each vertical seam, this leaves less ends to sew in and gets the throw together quicker) - Step 11

- sew in all ends.
- Step 13
- To work boarder, join black marvel into any corner with a slst and work 2dc into same st, *work a row of dc along the edge to the next corner, 3dc in the corner, repeat from * twice, work a row of dc along the edge until the final cnr, 1dc in to 1st st, slst into 1st dc,
- Step 14
- 1dc shell a in same st as slst, * (sk 2 dc, 1dc shell a into next st) repeat from * along side finishing with a dc shell into the middle dc of the next corner, (you may have to fudge a couple of shells by skiping 3 sts instead of 2 if you don’t make the corner but it is important to start the next side in the corner.) Repeat for next 3 sides, finishing off the last cnr with a slst into 1st dc.
- Step 15
- Finish off and sew in all ends.
